On June 10th 2008, hundreds of kites designed and decorated with positive slogans and images of peace were flown in a mass display on the grounds of the Washington Monument in Washington DC. The kites were created by children and adults across the nation from Florida, Washington D.C., California, and even Hawaii.
Hundreds of these kites were then shipped overseas as a gesture of peace and friendship to be distributed to children in countries at war including Iraq, Niger, and Russian occupied Georgia. Kites for Peace continues with events around the country.

Kites for Peace offers us an opportunity to come from an inner place of peace, to unite in a moment in time, and to appreciate nature, family, friends and community for an elevated cause. When we change, the world changes. Peace is an absence of waste and negative thoughts and feelings. Our world is a reflection of our inner being.
